This is a collection of some of the various books I have read and found useful. This list is not meant to be used as a learning path, just as a reference for if you’re a similar topic. Note: I’m only listing books I’ve found useful.

  • Note: Makes you a little paranoid but for all the right reasons…

Practical Lock Picking: A Phyisical Penetration Tester’s Training Guide - Deviant Ollam

  • Date Read: 2021

  • Note: One of the most well thought-out/explained books I’ve read. Cannot recommend enough. Fantastic.

Practical Vim: Edit At The Speed Of Thought - Drew Neil

  • Date Read: 2021

  • Note: A great introduction to VIM if you’re a huge nerd like me.

Nmap Network Scanning: The Official NMAP Project Guide - Gordon Fyodor Lyon

  • Date Read: 2021

  • Note: Great book to skim through and find out you know nothing about NMAP.

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Study Guide: CLF-C01 Exam - Ben Piper, David Clinton

  • Date Read: 2021

  • Note: Never took the exam, but a good read if you want to learn the basics.

PowerShell For Sysadmins - Adam Bertram

  • Date Read: 2021

  • Note: Good introduction to powershell. Do the projects though.

Automate the Boring Stuff With Python - Al Sweigart

  • Date Read: 2020

  • Note: Great introduction to python. Make sure you do the projects.

CompTIA Linux+ Study Guide: Exam XK0-004 - Christine Bresnahan, Richard Blum

  • Date Read: 2020

  • Note: Great book that covers a lot of Linux fundamentals.

CompTIA Project+ Study Guide: Exam PK0-004 - Kim Heldman

  • Date Read: 2019

  • Note: Not saying the exam is worth it, but this book got me to pass it.
